Have you ever had a girlfriend that would NOT listen to the advice of her girls?
Have you had a girlfriend that was a man’s fool not once but twice?
Have you ever had a girlfriend who said one thing and did another?
Have you ever had a girlfriend that ‘been there, done that’ and went back there again?
Was this girlfriend all one friend?
Meet Bree Micheals, a young divorced mother of two children and that girlfriend mentioned above. After one failed marriage and a turbulent relationship, Bree decides to move back to Tuckett, Florida for a fresh start. She has her own apartment, a car and a nice job. She is feeling good about herself again.
Dre, described as a caramel complexion, tall but thick like Lebron James with huge cut arms décor with tattoos and a beautiful set of teeth that displays an infectious smile. He has all the physical ‘pluses’ a woman wants in a man. However he does have a MINUS. He’s married, married with children.
It all started when Bree’s car was mysteriously receiving car washes, then one or two roses left by her door and small notes stuck between the car doors. Very intriguing don’t you think?
Although Bree never intended to start a relationship with Dre, she does. Feeling guilty for the perverted lust she had for another woman’s husband didn’t consume her guilt; even as she reminisced about her own devastated emotions when she was ‘that woman’s husband.’ Bree realized this was another woman’s husband, the husband that lived in the same apartment complex as she; another woman’s husband whom she knew both his wife and children! What’s the word for this?
The wife had her suspicious and yes she finds out and the pages really start turning. Dre, well, he has nothing but love for his Boo (Bree) and demonstrates this LOVE to Bree. You’ve heard it before; ‘You’ll looking for Love in all the wrong places,’ breaking it down; Looking for Love within the wrong person.
The storyline is full of family support, girlfriends, an ignored conscious, sex, anger, lust, jealousy, rage, forgiveness and happiness. This was an enjoyable read. You know you got a good read when the story has you talking out loud to the characters. The drama within the storyline is a well-written realization of why you should listen to that little voice you hear that is called a conscious.
A good read. Make Another Woman’s Husband your book club selection.
